Methods of Securing Number Plates
There are a few mainstream methods of securing number plates to vehicles. Traditionally they have been screwed to the bumpers and lately high security anti tamper screws have become popular. Advantages are strength and security disadvantages are water damage and cannot re-use the plates on another vehicle. Double sided fixing pads became popular with the advent of plastic bumpers but these can detach in floods and fords or if the surfaces were not clean when applied. Special frames are available which offer the best of both solutions. The frames are screwed to the vehicle but the plates clip into the frames.
